I’m not gonna say our original pilot had even more Fast and Furious references, because for legal reasons’s that’s definitely not the case… but I understand there are only 2 more F&F movies being made. Let this mark the official start of my campaign to get @andrewphung into the fast and furious universe before they stop making the movies. Who’s with me?!
I’ve pointed out a few people that I continue to work with every day, but the truth is, a show like this takes the hundreds of people to come to life. Andrew and I made it our mission to create a welcoming, warm environment, to listen and learn every day, and to make this show the voice of many, not just the two of us. To @lundybill, who took a chance on us right from the start, Laszlo, Nicole, @karenteezang, and the whole team from Pier 21 Films, you are our rocks. To our writing team, you are the creative minds that brought so much comedy and heart to this show. To our actors (some of which came from our writing team), you brought it all to life and elevated these scripts every step of the way. To our directors, you made these stories come alive with your passion and vision. To all of our producers, crew, the teams of people from every department that truly went above and beyond every single day, you are all incredible and in many cases pulled off what seemed like it would be the impossible. To everyone at CBC who welcomed us, supported us and the vision we had, and did everything they could to make this show thrive... to all of you I just have to say thank you. There is a lot of love goin’ around today, and I hope each and every one of you enjoys this moment as much as I am. We did it, and we did it together!

@shebzargha what you lack when it comes to being able to sit down, you make up for with your writing, passion for comedy, and your thoughtful consideration of our writers, cast, and entire production team. You and I would lean on each other every day, and there were more than a few times where we would be in the thick of it and one of us would turn to the other and say “I wish I could give you a hug right now.” We’re a couple of sensitive souls living in a covid world. “No touching… no touching…” It was far from easy, but dude… we did it. We’re a country apart, continuing to work at a distance, texting every day as we work on future episodes, and this thing is coming out tonight! So I’ll say it again. I wish I could give you a hug right now… but like… a happy one. Our show runner, my friend… thank you.
@aleysay, you directed the hell out of the Run The Burbs pilot (which airs tonight at 8:30!!!!) and joined us throughout the season as an executive producer and creative mastermind. You are one of the hardest working people I have ever met and I will forever recreate one of your many power poses any time I see an apple box. Big week coming up. Of course none of it would be possible without everyone who joined us along the way, but for a couple Alberta boys who were eatin’ pizza and throwing around ideas for a show a few years ago… this is a big moment. Andrew and I have been BFFs, creating together for the better part of 15 years. Comedy shorts with our pals in Calgary, commercial gigs as our careers grew, and we even developed a sneaker show that didn’t go anywhere before we started working on this one. So I guess the lesson is, keep grinding my friends. @andrewphung, it’s been a wild ride. Proud of you. Proud of us. I can’t wait to see what lies ahead. Happy New year! . A day late but I promise you, just as sincere. Here’s hoping that 2022 brings us together more than it keeps us apart. That creativity and the human spirit will shine through in what appears to be the darkest timeline. My goal is to create art in every way I can. To find and share inspiration with other creators. To get outside… even when it’s cold. And to connect with people whenever it’s possible, because as we’ve learned… it’s not always possible. Stay safe out there, have an incredible year, and get your booster!

What can I even say about this team… I am just incredibly fortunate to have had the chance to work with the amazing actors, writers, producers, directors & crew that made this show possible. You’re all so incredibly talented and I can’t wait to share our show with the world.

That’s a wrap on production of Run The Burbs season 1! It is rare to have such a talented group of people together in one place.
